About the KGH My Birth
Hypnobirthing Course

'The truth for women living in a modern world, is that they must take increasing responsibility for the skills they bring into birth, if they want their birth to be natural. Making choices of where and with whom to birth is not the same as bringing knowledge and skills into your birth, regardless of where and with whom you birth'

Michel Odent - Obstetrician and childbirth specialist.

Responsibilities

The first question every birthing mother/couple should ask themselves…..
who is responsible for how I give birth’

The answer is undoubtedly YOU.

Birth is a partnership between Mother, Husband/Partner and the medical caregivers.

This partnership may well be a great one, full of shared understanding, yet empowerment comes from YOUR FOCUS in achieving the best possible birth that
is right for you.

It is not for you, the birthing mother/couple to focus on the ‘what if’s’, these are for your midwife/medical professionals to consider.

The KGHypnobirthing course has been tailored over the years as and when midwives have become involved, ensuring that KGHypnobirthing works together with medical professionals.

Expectations

All good birth stories mention ‘PRACTICE & PREPARATION’ Practice during and following completion of the KGH Hypnobirthing course is key.

Naturally the mind will find a preference but in practicing the full toolbox of Hypnobirthing, this gives birthing mothers and partners the best possible options for an empowering birth.

Preparation, it is important to note here that ‘where the mind leads
the body follows’

The time following your Hypnobirthing course is a time for couples to really consider the birth they would like to have and equip themselves with all the knowledge, allowing them to make informed choices.

It is important NOT to make decisions based on assumptions, instead
take time to base decisions on information not emotional responses alone.

During your Hypnobirthing course, you are in control.  It is you that decides to accept the suggestion that birth can be gentle and empowering, nobody has the ability to
make you do anything, you have to want the suggestion to work.

Rest assured neither you or your partner will leave the class performing like a circus monkey!
